Tips for Tropical Weddings
by: Joy MacKay

Tropical weddings can truly make your romantic dreams come true. As you are making wedding plans for your ceremony, you will want to take full advantage of the benefits of islands weddings. Spread your wings as you prepare for a gorgeous beach wedding, and take some of these tips for tropical weddings to heart as you begin your journey.

One of the most important tips for tropical weddings is guest notification. Your guests can't make the trip unless they have proper notice. Even if you don't have the details of your wedding worked out quite yet, send out a "Save the Date" card to each guest, letting them make note of the dates they should be in Hawaii for your wedding. You might even get a rough head count of how many will attend.

Call restaurants and activity centers beforehand, to make reservations for your guests to gather on a few occasions. This creates bonding time for guests to get to know one another during the time they spend in Hawaii. Also, don't forget to reserve a block of hotel rooms under your party name, so that guests can easily find hotel rooms close to your wedding.

Things to Take into Consideration

Perhaps one of the most important tips for tropical weddings is to prepare for light rain. Part of the tropical climate is indeed the heat, but you will want to make sure that you are also accounting for the occasional tropical rain. It's best to prepare for such weather beforehand, than to feel surprised by it later.

Make sure to arrange for some alone time. Even though one of the benefits of island weddings is the proximity of your honeymoon to your ceremony locale, consider that guests might make the trip into an extended vacation. You will want to make sure that you are not staying in a hotel with family and friends for the duration of your honeymoon unless you so choose. Be sure to figure in some quality time for you and your spouse to bond and enjoy each other, by yourselves.
