Choosing the Right Wedding Shoes - Tips and Tricks for Finding the Perfect Women’s Shoes for Your Perfect Day

If you are a bride-to-be, you have many details to consider. What food will be served at your reception? Will your dress be strapless? What kind of cake should you get? What song will you use for the first dance? Will you need a string quartet, or a harpist? Shall you be married outside by a lake, or in a church?  Will you make your bridesmaids all wear the same dress even though their body types are totally different? (Hint: the answer to that last question should be no.  Your bridesmaids will have less fun at your wedding if they’re busy wondering if they’re about to undergo a wardrobe malfunction.  This is not good for your relationship with the women who should be your best friends).

One crucial detail to consider is your shoes. Many times, shoes become a last-minute scramble, since brides may not think about them much until after The Dress has been chosen. However, shoes should actually be considered even before you buy the dress because they are a crucial part of your comfort and style on your wedding day.  Some women’s shoes sacrifice either style or comfort, yet both are vital to your enjoyment of your wedding.

You don’t want to walk down the aisle in 3-inch stilettos if you would never wear them in real life! This could be a recipe for falling on your face or even breaking an ankle.  Similarly, you want to make sure that you can find shoes that you can dance all night in that still look beautiful on your feet. If you’ve ever shopped for perfect women’s shoes, you know this can be challenging. Price is also a factor to consider. As you are probably already aware, some dress shoes, especially those intended for brides, can be overpriced.

Look to regular fashion venues rather than bridal shops to find the perfect shoe. It’s easy to find beautiful wedding shoes in silver or champagne and white, that you will be able to wear again without looking like a little girl at Easter. You might also consider some fun alternatives to traditional women’s shoes for a wedding, especially if you have a destination wedding in mind. Rhinestone-studded flip-flops, buttery leather ballet flats, or a glamorous retro t-strap tango shoe are all fun, sexy shoe choices for your wedding day.  In any case, be sure to have fun and dance all night in your fabulous shoes!
