Wedding speeches and toasts are a tribute to the
bride and groom on their wedding day.
Champagne is the drink of choice for toasting and is
synonymous with romance.
The best man traditionally acts as master of
ceremonies and offers the first toast to the bride
and groom. The toast may be in the form of a
poem, a quotation, or an anecdote about the couple.
No matter what form it takes, it should be brief and
sincere.
Toasting Tips
Toasts can be sealed with a sip of champagne, wine,
mixed drink or non-alcoholic punch but never tea,
coffee or water.
If you are the
recipient of a toast, do not stand, raise your
glass, or take a sip of your drink. Thank the
toasters by smiling
graciously or nodding.
Enjoy!
