Men’s Wedding Rings: Choices to Make
There’s More Variety in Men’s Wedding Rings Than You Might Think

Men aren’t supposed to care about jewelry, right? Anything other than a plain band of platinum or white gold is…well, girly. Right? Wrong. Men should be able to have choices about wedding bands too. After all, their fiancées get to play with diamonds, sapphires and emeralds with their engagement rings and their wedding bands.  Why should choosing men’s wedding rings be no choice at all?

Some want to explore alternative metals for men’s wedding rings, and might consider titanium, symbolizing the sheer strength of their love and their commitment to the marriage. Others might choose men’s wedding rings with subtle diamonds embedded in the band. Or a couple might choose to have their rings engraved on the inside with a romantic quotation…half inside his ring and half inside hers, so that two halves make a whole.  The possibilities for adding interest to men’s wedding rings are many.

Another increasingly popular idea for wedding rings is for the rings to be carved or patterned in some interesting way.  A man might choose a pattern that reflects his cultural heritage--for example, a ring with Celtic patterns to celebrate Irish heritage (this would work especially well if his bride wore a traditional Claddagh ring, the crowned heart clasped in tiny hands).  World cultures can be a source of inspiration for intricate, artisan-inspired patterns—look at traditional Middle Eastern textiles, African art, or Chinese calligraphy for inspiration.

Alternatively, the groom might choose a wedding band made of two different metals (perhaps white and yellow golds) to produce a variegated, organic pattern within the metal.  Rings can also be mostly one metal with a stripe of a contrasting metal around the band. There are more possibilities than one might initially suppose for buying men’s wedding bands. Why should women have all the fun? Gentlemen, let your imaginations soar—there’s no need to wear your dad’s ring.
